Meet the Farmers

We are Jeremie Favre and Ellen Geisler—first generation sheep farmers who started Laxey Creek Sheep Ranch from scratch in 2022. Laxey Creek Sheep Ranch is located in Mineral Point, in southwest Wisconsin’s Driftless region—land that is untouched by glaciers and filled with rolling hills, small farms, and slow food producers. It is where we live, work, and raise our children.

We set out to create a farm with purpose—raising sheep at a commercial scale while prioritizing pasture management and sustainable grazing. We take a holistic approach to farming where quality meat, sustainability, and care for the land are prioritized over productivity and profits. Being part of the local community is also incredibly important to us, and we are fortunate to live in one with a rich history and deep appreciation for locally grown food.
